Unhappy Packet Loss argh

Hey Guys, Ive been suggested to ask on these forums first by a mate who works for NTL before I give them a ring on my mobile (no landline), anyway...

Since we had BB(2mb) installed about 6 weeks ago, there has been constant 5-20% packetloss at al times of the day - Really irritatating when trying to play games and also causing pages to load slower every now and again, we are using a wireless router but the problem remains when I'm plugged directly into the modem. I did a few pathpings to try to find the problem and it looks to me like there may be a fault with the first node after the modem (check screenshots). Admitedly I don't know too much about this kind of thing so was wondering if any of you guys could steer me in the right direction so I (and my housemates) can get back to skiving off uni work to play online games!

Thanks in advance,

Chris.

Re: Packet Loss argh

That isnt normal, ring tech support and see if you can get an engineer in to have a look, your lan looks fine the problem is between yourself and the ubr.

Can confirm you have the modem on default settings for duplex and are you using ubr or ethernet?

Re: Packet Loss argh

Ive also seen this problem for at least 2 months.

Im in Oxford. Its causing Gamespot 700k videos to not play correctly, as well as a few other annoyances.
I did try to ring TS about it, but i got through to the Indian TS dept. and ended up banging my head against a wall.

I was hoping this would fix itself with the arrival of 10MB, and system upgrades but alas it has not.

Re: Packet Loss argh

Rang NTL with my pc directly plugged into the modem via ethernet, showed them the screenshots of the pathpings and they said that they won't send anyone over because they cant see a problem from their end... what should I do? Its not my game or my PC, housemates all getting the same problem, but because webpages arent effected they wont send anyone over :E

Re: Packet Loss argh

Phoned them again and spoke with a different guy. He saw a problem and an engineer is coming to look at the ntl area hub/node/box/whatever. Just can't get the staff!
