Unhappy Could that be the issue......

hi everybody........I am really tired to keep thinking the problem of using p2p through ntl but maybe i have got something here:
BitComet 0.60 is running on:
CPU : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz 3391 MHz
RAM size : 1,023.29 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

Default tracker optimization rules file loaded.
IP rules file: ipfilter.dat loaded, 0 entries.
Start Listening at TCP Port:17218
Start Listening at UDP Port:17218
Windows XP ICF Status: Firewall port is opened.
Windows XP ICF Status: Firewall port is opened.
Update Local IP: 192.168.0.2
Windows XP ICS Status: cannot find working ICS.
Windows XP ICS Status: cannot find working ICS.
Windows XP UPnP Status: Not Supported!
Windows XP UPnP Status: Not Supported!
UDP tracker report: WAN IP = <mod edit: Chris W> Public IP removed
As you can see the UPnP is not supported. I posted about p2p before and it seems no one is having problem with p2p. I am just wondering what is shown on your p2p software?

Re: Could that be the issue......

Not sure - I have only ever tried torrent type P2P, and that via a router with upnp enabled - I got extremely variable download speeds, which I assumed to be due to only a small number of people sharing the files, when speed was low, in contrast, the more 'popular' files were quite fast.

Re: Could that be the issue......

Should not be the problem of the p2p software setting though, i had been using dsl freedom 512k from ntl last year, downloaded 50k+ day and night using p2p software. Now i have got 1.5m and only downloading around 25k *-*

Re: Could that be the issue......

Information regarding UPnP is available from microsoft here

have you tried adding an exception so that UPnP is enabled?
