Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

not really but it also depends upon your setup/configuration.

firstly self install for 100meg? could you post your downstream and upstream connection stats please. put this into your web browser and hit enter

192.168.100.1

(default login)
username: admin
password: changeme

you'll have a message appear just click ok. then open this..

http://192.168.100.1/VmRgNetworkStatus.asp

scroll down and copy and paste in here both downstream and upstream

------------

with regards to your setup. firstly the SH does suck so if your willing to invest in a decent router i'd do it. in the mean time whats your desktop specs, laptop specs?

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

Well you will not get better speeds than that for your iPhone 4, as for your laptop I would have to know more details about it specifically its wireless connection type.

I think my desktop and iPhone are ok, my network card in my laptop is a 'n' and says it has a limit of 72M - hope that helps

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

My Galaxy S3 gets 55Mb over the wireless (though should really be able to do a lot more), 50Mb on a laptop is pretty poor. Then again if you're getting that on a 72 card then it's pretty impressive, the maximum you should be able to get is about 47.5

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

download inSSIDer > http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/ onto your laptop and scan for wifi networks. note which channel each uses then set the SuperHub to use a channel that isn't in use. also toy with wireless mode, upto 144 - upto 300 < disable OBSS when applying 300.

download TCP optimizer > http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php/ and move the marker up top all the way too 100+ then above apply changes click on Optimal then apply, restart > test via IE. make sure you configure both ethernet and wireless for the laptop.

*In your opinion and not in anyway official or legally binding

Speeds over wireless will always vary and depend on your network card.

I consistantly hit 100Mb over direct ethernet connection but on my laptop never get over 70Mb and iPad is lower again.

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

the SH does suck. theres far better routers out in the world. fact. and i didn't say the SH cannot cope with 100meg over wifi as beta testers proved it can be done.

* out my whole post and acknowledge I said it depends on setup/configuration

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

So...
Desktop (wired connection) - 93M
Laptop (wireless connection) - 50M
iPhone 4 (wireless connection) - 25M

... desktop is ok, laptop is due to networks cards 72M limit and iPhone is due to its limit as well?

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

No, iPhone would have 72M limit and should do 40-50 in practice

Re: Superhub speeds on 100M

My desktop always reaches over the 100mb limit through Ethernet.

Laptop does vary without testing it again I'm sure one test I did on it got around 99mb but on average its around 70mb

phones I think are around 20/25mb not sure if I have ever been over that

There's been a lot of discussion and even disagreement. But it works like this:

Desktop (wired connection) - 93M
[SEPH]: Normal as you'd imagine.

Laptop (wireless connection) - 50M
[SEPH]: Assuming you're on 2.4 GHz (as per iPhone), 50 meg wireless is very good and better than normal. The card might well do 72 meg but that's tops without considering the two way element. AFAIK, wireless is half duplex and that would bring average rate down.

iPhone 4 (wireless connection) - 25M
[SEPH]: That's above average based on my experience

So, all in all, a win.
