100 Mb Upgrade - Optimal Settings
Just been upgraded in Stockport from 50Mb to 100Mb but after doing a few speedtests all i'm getting is 74-75Mb. Always got maximum speed on all other tiers over the years with VM. Is there anything i need to change to get the full 100Mb?
In the Super Hub settings should i untick Firewall Features and IP Flood Detection?
Is London Namesco still the best setting on speedtest.net?

Unticked them but i'm still only getting a maximum of 75Mb.
I used to have them unticked in the past but i went into the Super Hub settings for the first time in ages and they were ticked. Anyone know why that was?

Re: 100 Mb Upgrade - Optimal Settings
Try wired and see what you get. It's quite hard to get 100Mbps over wireless unless you have no congestion in the local area and your house doesn't have any thick insulation. There are other factors such as wireless LAN card, drivers, etc.

Re: 100 Mb Upgrade - Optimal Settings
I'm back with VM. I noticed the Super Hub layout has changed. In the Super Hub settings should i still untick Firewall Features, which now just says Firewall, and IP Flood Detection? Any other changes to the settings i should make?

There shouldn't be many changes that you need to make apart from un tick IP Flood detection if you already have a firewall you can un tick firewall as well, wireless you was getting a good speed can you try it wired and let us know what speed your getting.

Re: 100 Mb Upgrade - Optimal Settings
Without going into it I got a shub forced on me when I upgraded to 100mbit when it first came out and I went back to my vmng300 because I had the same problem as you. My vmng300 always gave me 100% max speed in speed tests (at the time I was on 50mbit) but when I went up to 100mbit the speed tests on the shub came back as 36mbit I don't know what it was doing but I was actually getting full speed though.
Try downloading lots of big files at the same time from somewhere like gamershell.com or from newsgroups and you should find that you can max out your connection.
