Re: superhub connection problems

go to windows updates and update the atheros drivers or and any other wifi/net drivers that come up. open windows update from the start menu, when windows update appears click on check for updates top left then have a look in optional and important

after that also go into your saved wireless connections and delete any saved auto connects. then try again. a restart after updating drivers and deleting saved connections will most probably help before trying to connecting again

Re: superhub connection problems

download > http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/

onto a wireless capable device such as a laptop running windows. install and run the program. let it scan for all wifi networks within reach and note which each uses then set your SuperHub to use a wifi channel that isn't in use

in your browser put this and hit enter...

192.168.100.1

login, defaults. username: admin - password: changeme

advanced settings below the 3 red boxes

to your left there will be a grey/black column. under the Setup heading there'll be Wireless Settings. click on it. change channel to which ever your find to be least used. change 802.11 mode to up to 145. apply

Re: superhub connection problems

are you sure it isnt a firewall/virus issue. I have had this once before and it turned out to be a virus.

As you mentioned laptops, I am assuming you are trying to connect them wirelessly. Have you told the shub to use 802.11n only and your older vista laptop is g?

To rule out the laptop/vista as being the issue I would connect it to the shub via cable and see if it gets a connection. You will see the globe appear over the network icon in your system tray and you can click on start, run, cmd, ipconfig, enter and will see you have got an ip address of something like 192.168.0.4 with a default gateway of 192.168.0.1.

If it isnt connecting to the shub then your ip will be something like 169.254.x.x

Re: superhub connection problems

click start type in devmgmt.msc and click on devicemanager or what ever similar appears

expand network adapters. right click the wifi adapter then properties then the advanced tab then look for mode and set it to G only and apply then test ?

if you have no joy.. taken from dell...

What fixed my problem was removing the dell wireless utility that comes pre-installed, removing the wireless card fromm the hardware list, and letting it pick-up the default broadcom drivers pre-installed in the computer. Hope this might help some of you.

Re: superhub connection problems

You can get decent mini-PCIe cards for about £5 if you're lucky.
