Only 1 downstream channel
Hi
I received the superhub last week as part of a XL20MB to XL60MB upgrade. My old router was not too brillient, so I decided to give the superhub a go at being a router before dumbing it down to modem only mode.
It is locking up and needing to be rebooted about once a day, (roughly the same as my old router). So far, pretty much as expected.
Usually after the reboot, it negotiates 4 downstream channels. However, last night I watched as it booted.
Before the crash it was on channels 152,153,154 and 155. Afterwards it went through a process of getting channel 5, which it almost immediately lost, then got channel 158. I was waiting for the other 3 channels to arrive, but they never did.
My question is - Should I be concerned at only having 1 downstream channel?
Before the reboot downstream channel power was a touch high at between 7 and 8, but compared to some of the reports on here, that is nothing.
Here is the config information from the superhub.

Re: Only 1 downstream channel
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

As it hangs about once a day, I am sure this will happen soon.
I did not reboot it last night as my son was in a hurry to get online to do his homework. It seems almost all the homework needs to be done online now.

copy and paste. no im only joking lol
we've seen afew SHs now locking onto 1 down channel. the others have all locked onto docsis non 3 which is indicated by the colour of the top light on the side of your SH. blue = docsis3. green = docsis non 3

Yes, my blue light has been flashing for some time. Still they won't pull over

Re: Only 1 downstream channel
its still on docsis3.
only one channel indicates something isnt working right, try rebooting and if that doesnt work then report to VM as a fault.
Whats interesting is you probably have channel range from 152-158 6 channels but even the first time you only locked onto 4 channels.

Locked up again last night and I watched it reboot. It tried to get channel 158 again but the power level was around 50, it gave up on this and eventually settled on 4 channels 166-168 with power levels 5.7-6.7

The Superhub can't lock onto non-DOCSIS 3 channels and stay there, the provisioning system prevents it.
Blue = channels bonded, green = not.

Sorry I meant 7 channels, bad maths.
So its 166-168 not 156-158?

A couple of days ago it was on 152-155. Spent a day on 158. Now it is 165-168. If things run to form, it will probably need to be rebooted in the next hour and we might get a different set.
