Re: Up-speed halved
Been away for a couple of days. Upload speed and Max Raw Bit Rate still halved.
Got an update from CS. They assure me that my case has been upgraded and that the team have Wednesday 13th. as problem resolution day.
We shall see.
At least they have acknowledged that this is not just a single user problem and that the UBR upgrade will not improve things on its own

Re: Up-speed halved
Back to normal. Problem found and solved.
Measured through IE9.
Meanwhile some confusion with Firefox misreporting speed tests!
Measured through Firefox 14.0. Firefox 13.0 was as bad this last week.
Any ideas / solutions?

Neither did I, until yesterday. CS told me that Firefox, alone, had been causing them quite a few problems recently, with a lot of customer calls being generated by Firefox 'misreporting speed tests.
For me, this was a coincidental issue on top of the real problem that had been causing up speed issues. VM engineers have fixed this. Firefox recently upgraded to version 13.0. I can't be sure, but the apparent problems I began to get with down speed popped up around the time of the Firefox upgrade. Upgrading manually to Firefox 14.0 has not solved the problem.
The same effect occurs with a variety of speed test sites and on one of my other machines. IE9 always gives me an 'accurate' result with Firefox giving half the correct speed.
I'll start it up as a separate thread here.
I have googled the issue. Nothing shows up yet. However, I have reported this effect on Firefox feed back and the Virgin Media community forums.

Re: Up-speed halved
Just tested this and all three browsers give me the same speedtest results.
Read into that what you will...
