Upgraded to a slower speed.

VM called me yesterday to "Congratulate" me that my 20mbps was now upgraded to 60 mbps. I checked the speed right now and its 1.87mbps.

Wonderful!

Re: Upgraded to a slower speed.

1) If you havent got a vmng300 or a shub you wont be able to get 60mbit (i.e if you have got an old modem you need a new one)
2) Go to 192.168.100.1 and click on operational config and post the info. 1.87mb/sec is 20mbit speed so I bet you havent been provisioned for it yet (the new config file hasnt been sent to your modem to tell it it can now do the incrwaed speed).
3) Have you rebooted your modem since the phone call because that will trigger the new config file to download. (do this before No. 2)

Re: Upgraded to a slower speed.

oh, didnt read that bit It also says he was on 30 and not 20.

In that case dude if you are in router mode go to 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 for modem mode), sign in, click on advanced settings and something like the connection tab on the left. You are looking for info like

Primary Downstream Service Flow
Max Traffic Rate : 110000000 bps

but you can just post everything including power levels just to be on the safe side

Re: Upgraded to a slower speed.

It looks like it may have been fixed. Last night it was showing 37 mbps.
