Using superhub at different address
I'm going to be moving house (in the same town) for a few months, if I take my superhub to the new property (which has a live connection) will I be able to connect it up and use it still?

Re: Using superhub at different address
Hmm.. Straight to the point
I remember when I moved house last time my STB just worked before I'd notified virgin, why will the same not be the case with the modem?
I'm getting a large rennovation, and staying elsewhere for a few months while that's being done, but don't want to transfer services to and fro, and be signed up for a fresh 12/18 months contract each time.

Re: Using superhub at different address
If it's in an area covered by a different network node, no it won't

Re: Using superhub at different address
How can I tell if this is the case? Would a node likely cover the whole town/city, or just a few houses/street?

Re: Using superhub at different address
My suggestion would be to ring VM and explain you circumstances. From personal experience I recommend speaking to retentions as they are very understanding.

Re: Using superhub at different address
Nodes can cover 1000+ connections. In a normal town you are usually a maximum of 5 - 600 metres from the nearest one, and Virgin's system can also detect which one you are connected to.

Re: Using superhub at different address
And it would just plain refuse to work if on a different node?

Re: Using superhub at different address
It's impossible to give an absolute yes or no answer. It's up to you whether you take the chance on it working (or not). My previous advice stands, explain your circumstances to retentions and ask what they can do to help. You're paying for the services so see what they can offer.

Re: Using superhub at different address
VM have a system in place that picks this up same town or not! call in and sort it out or go ahead and cause an issue which shouldnt be an issue in the first place.

Re: Using superhub at different address
Depends on how far you are moving from your current location if its less than 4-5 miles in either direction you should be ok (this used to be the case) however this may have changed with tighter network security!
(Modems now tend to be locked down to specific areas)!!
Can't hurt to try!

Phone VM and tell them you are moving. They will move the Superhub for you and make sure it works.
