Crawley Downstream channels

Just a heads up for any other members in the Crawley (craw6) area.

This morning, after an outage, my SH came back online with 5 downstream channels. I'm assuming that the speed increase will follow soon afterwards.

re: Crawley Downstream channels

I'm on 4 also. Although after my 30 to 60mb doubling a couple of weeks ago my Shub showed 5 channels. After a reboot it went back to 4.

re: Crawley Downstream channels

Yeah me too. I had the upgrade pushed prior to the official ETA. I doubt its a glitch with pushing channels, surely not May be we'll see more channels during the week

re: Crawley Downstream channels

Yeah mine was an ahead of schedule upgrade when I got Tivo. This was a couple of weeks ago and given the wireless issues I've been having I've spent quite a lot of time logged into the Shub! Wretched thing.

Not yet, still need to order a router. Went into Maplin yesterday (Just to look you understand!) to see what will match all my other stuff.

re: Crawley Downstream channels

Preferably no more than £60. As for needs, a wireless router that wirelessly routes. Not too much to ask is it? Unless it's a Superhub modem/router that is, Arrgh!
Have no 5GHz devices so nothing especially clever.

re: Crawley Downstream channels

If you want 2.4Ghz only and are on a <100mbps service, a DIR-615 for £10 off eBay does just fine.

re: Crawley Downstream channels

as qas says a cheap d link 615 or http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002YETVT...SIN=B002YETVTQ

Or buy the 615 then save up for a dual band Linksys

re: Crawley Downstream channels

Thanks both qas and thenry. She who must be obeyed would go spare if I put a white router in our Lounge. I had to find a black crackle finish PC case when I built the new computer before Christmas. Black Panasonic HT kit, black TV etc. You see where I'm going? Anything good that's a match for all the rest of the kit? She'll just have to accept it if we need to spend a few extra quid

re: Crawley Downstream channels

I'm almost tempted by a WR-1043ND but at £45 it's not much cheaper than the £50 I paid for a 450mbps dual-band WR-2543ND

---------- Post added at 13:34 ---------- Previous post was at 13:33 ----------

DIR-615 is black:

re: Crawley Downstream channels

Thank you qas, looks like it'll be a WR-2543ND. Amazon have them and I have an account

re: Crawley Downstream channels

While I won't stop you spending your money how you like, I would say the 2543ND is considerably overkill for your needs - plus it's silver, not black.
