Best tool to Monitor internet usage
As STM is topical, what is the best tool I can use for making sure I don't go over the threshold?
I have a problem in that I sometimes stream to my TV via a media player and therefore both my PCs are switched off.
How can I tell if I am nearing the limit?
Thanks

1 PC upstairs
1 laptop downstairs

Media player
10MB
modem
I streamed 2 hours of content yesterday via my media player, and then turned on my PC, downlaoded a 1GB file and was STM'd.
My fault completely - but it would be nice to know how mcuh i have left. Can I do this for non PC content if both PCs switched off?

Re: Best tool to Monitor internet usage
Oh right, sorry, got mixed up - google search for Tenda N300 brings up a USB receiver. Looks like Tenda gave their router and USB receiver the same model number!

Re: Best tool to Monitor internet usage
crap. i cant even find the manual for the router.
preferably you want a monitor built into the router. not sure your router has that.
1) call VM for a SuperHub, say your old modems shot. 2) buy a new router able to monitor usage UNLESS you get on well with the SuperHub which has a monitor BUT it does reset when the power is disconnected

Thanks
Can I not just request a superhub anyway?
How can they enforce a STM when their equipment doesn't even monitor usage?

Re: Best tool to Monitor internet usage
I presume the answer will be No, although I haven't tried. If it is,:
Is there a chart anywhere, that shows estimated amount of downloaded Megabytes 2 hours of streaming SD content incurrs?
I really have no idea how much this would use up.
Thanks

Answered my own question with this:
http://www.cableone.net/pages/datacalculator.html#
No idea how accurate it is.
But it basically states that streaming just 1 football match in HD at 3pm on a Saturday will mean I get STMd
