Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
B63 (Halesowen) seems to have been upgraded (not the 120Mb Upgrade yet)
On 5 downstreams now and better speeds, looks like the reseg worked fine.

Got the message in the green box that my area is complete. (Area 30)
Just waiting for them to flick the switch now.

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
well if you do a speed test your result will be in mbits so I would expect 18-20mbits. You won't get that now because it is a Friday evening. If you are downloading a file (which you'll need to do from torrents/newsgroups/www.gamershell.com then your speed is in megabytes per second and I would expect to see something like 2.4 (2400k/sec) max.

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
My internet was meant to be going up from 20 mb to 60 mb by the end of July, but I checked today and noticed they hadn't upgrading my internet at all, and I was annoyed by the fact that they didn't upgrade my speed or email to tell me how to get it.
So, I called them today and they made be follow some steps to change the router settings and I then performed a speed test and my download speed was now 58 mb. I asked the tech staff that was helping me why my upload speed was only 3mb and he told me that the internet connections around the UK are refreshed at 12am every night and told me I should check then.
I was wondering if anyone has had their upload speed upgraded as well as their download speed or not?
Thanks

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
1) regardless of what settings you tweaked there is information in the modems config which tells you what speed you are provisioned for
2) hardly anyone is on 10:1 ratio atm. The downstream speed doubling is independant of the upstream doubling and has been done in advance (i.e you are an upgraded 30/3 tier) and your upstream will be doubled to 6 at some point in the future.

Thanks for the reply mate. I would have thought both the download and upload speed would be upgraded simultaneously as that is what they offered. Also, if my modem is provisioned to give me a certain speed why wasn't it?
Cheers.

Its alot easier for VM to add downstream channel which are already bonded than it is to add extra upstream channels as I am sure they haven't started bonding upstream yet.

Thanks for the info mate. I thought they would have done both, but looks like it is just a waiting game until they decided to add more upstream channels.

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
Good old Havant has got the upgrade it would seem...
Running on 120/12 now, apparently! (But of course the VMNG300 doesn't do above 90meg)
Interesting to know how long it should have been on this, I only noticed after a (very rare) modem reboot
