I never got a letter but I did notice that in the few weeks running up to my speed being doubled there were quite a few outages.

Did it say 'in July' or 'from July'?

First of all it said April till June and it changed all of a sudden just before the end of June to July. So, I presume it has to be done soon.

aka maybe we will get round to it in January?
We had to wait a very long time for the initial UBR upgrades over everyone else, i.e. 100mb has only been in our area for a few months compared to those for a year+, now I have the sneaky suspicion they will hold back the 1:10 upload ratio for a long time also.
VM is starting to lie constantly now, and keep failing to meet demands/deadlines.
Bet those that decide when work is carried out had "Can work within deadlines" on their CV's and App forms.

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
Staverton was basically one of the last areas to get 100mbit, and yet it was in the first tranche to get the double speed upgrade and it was delivered early as well.
I very much doubt VM just have some vendetta against Uddingston.

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
Something weird just happened some time this evening. My speed has dropped to <40Mb, up speed is <5Mband ping is > 60ms. The Superhub GUI has changed. I can no longer access advance mode to view connection status. I am still in modem only mode it seems. I tried the reset button. No change. The Firmware is:-
Super Hub Version
Software Version "R36"
Hardware Version 2.00
Is this possibly something to do with speed doubling or is this a fault?
Edit.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................................................
CS tell me this is a firmware upgrade and that my loss of speed may have had something to do with it. Speed is back to normal now.
The change has nothing to do with speed doubling they say, but more to do with improving wireless functionality and ease of GUI use.
I will reserve judgement on the latter point!

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
seeming as though they have been doing everything backwards recently it sounds like they have got it right. Instead of doubling your speed they halved it

I also asked CS about speed doubling. The Scot on the other end said he hadn't a clue regarding the Coventry area. July onwards could mean next week or any time in the next 12 months. Neither did he know about his own area.
BTW, having accessed the new Superhub GUI there is some information no longer available. eg the Max Raw Bit Rate. We will miss this as an indicator of configuration change that may be affecting performance.
Anyway, this is off topic, so I'll desist.

Re: Areas already upgraded (2012 double speed upgrades)
your connection stats are there even in modem mode. go to the web interface but dont login. look to the top right corner.
the new firmware stabilizes the connection or more simply the SuperHub with R36 is able to handle the connection better. i dont understand the possible cause being the firmware itself. if anything its a glitch within setup.

Yeah, I'd found that eventually, but they have missed out the Max Raw Bit Rate from the connection info given.
