What needs to be done

l am thinking of buying a laptop for home use and adding broadband, 10m, to my existing tv/phone package. Please can someone explain what the engineer would need to do to set this up. I dont think my landlord would be too happy if there was disruption to the property which has only recently been refurbished. Forgive my ignorance but I am new to this side of things. Many thanks.

no disruption. if you've already got VM TV then you've got a VM cable coming into the property. all you'll need is a splitter fitted if you haven't already to which you'll have another white cable for the BB.

Re: What needs to be done

That depends on where you want it put - normally the engineers will install the modem and cabling to a location you choose but this can vary - some might insist on putting it in a certain place.

I fully accept what you say. Its, to late now but why did I have a two cables run around the side of my house to come in a foot from each other.
Also have another for TV ( which were all put in at the same time) Understand 4th one second box put in years later ( Tivo deal so V+ moved upstairs)

not sure i understand..

theres 2 cables pulled into the property, a fat pipe (BB,TV) and a skinny line (homephone). or are you on about split cables being pulled around the property?

to which you tell them no you want it install in this location if they refuse then tell them you are reporting them to there manager as cusotmer can have it wherever they want as long as it reasonble now if you asked them to install your modme on the ledge of a house then that would be unreasonable
