Talking Email From Virgin Media

got a email this morning from virgin media it reads

Dear ***********

We recently wrote to tell you that we'll be doubling our Virgin Media customers' broadband speeds. However, as your current speed is already the UK's fastest available, we'll be lowering the price of your broadband package instead to match the price of our Broadband XXL 50Mb package.

Unfortunately, we are having to change some of your other bundle charges. However, from 1st April 2012, the total cost of your bundle will still be going down by £5.75 a month.

And, as an extra thank you, we'll also be boosting your speed from up to 100Mb to up to 120Mb. These upgrades will start this summer and we'll be in touch nearer the time with more details.

What else is changing for you.
Starting from 1st April 2012, our evening period for home phone calls will change from 6pm - 6am to 7pm - 7am. We're also making some changes to home phone calling rates and call connect fees. The cost of these changes will vary depending on the call plan you're on. To find out more go to virginmedia.com/changes

How we can help you save more on your monthly bill.
In addition, our paper bill charge will be increasing by 25p a month. So if you haven't already moved to eBilling, it's easy to switch and save yourself £1.75 a month - that's £21 a year. Find out how at virginmedia.com/changes

You could also save £5 a month simply by switching to Direct Debit - that's £60 a year. It gives you peace of mind that your bills are paid on time, and it's completely hassle-free. To find out how just head over to virginmedia.com/changes

Our ongoing commitment to giving you the best home entertainment.
We’re as committed as ever to bringing you the fastest broadband, the best TV and lots of valuable extras too.

As you know, Virgin Media offers the fastest broadband speeds in the UK, which has been proven by Ofcom for the last three years*. And by upgrading the network we’ll make sure it stays this way. So you can keep doing all the things you love doing online, superfast – like streaming HD movies without buffering.

This year, we've added even more content to our TV On Demand. Just recently we added Sky Anytime to our Virgin Media On Demand service, so you can watch your favourite Sky shows whenever you like.

And we'll continue to give you extras, like enjoying up to 23 stunning HD channels at no extra cost.

We’re also continuing to work with the latest technologies to make sure you can watch shows and movies any way you like – on your TV, laptop and mobile.

For more information about these changes and all the extras you get with Virgin Media simply go to virginmedia.com/changes

Re: Email From Virgin Media

£7.75 reduction doesnt match the price of 50Mbit so you pay a little bit more?

Nice job giving the good news followed by the bad (change in off peak call hours and increased paper bill charge) and rounded off with a bit more good news. Leaves a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside doesn't it.

Re: Email From Virgin Media

Hmm,

I got this email and I am on 50MB, I was on 100MB but have been back on 50MB for a few weeks, is this another mass mailing error or are the internal systems not talking to each other?

Mailing lists are usually compiled a short while before they are sent out
