50M Download fine but upload very poor

Hello all,

I am on Virgin's 50 mbit, get 50.4 on multople speed test sites but upload is 400kbit

.

I have spoken to tech support in India & they say that this is normal. But is it not true that a 10:1 ratio exists?

Even if your area hasn't been upgraded to the new upload speed it should still be higher than that.

Are you trying from a wired or wireless connection?

It might be worth unplugging your Virgin modem or Superhub (not sure which you have) and plugging it back in again.

Try a speedtest again from a few different hosts in the UK - I think there are around 3 or 4 just London. If it makes no difference give 151 a call from your landline. Your upload should be better than that.
