ok well can pretty much rule out you will have 100mbit ethernet connection on your computer if you did you never likely get 100mbit because of overheads etc, but you most liekly hve gigabit ethernet conenction so can easily get full speed but as someone else poitned out speed test sites are never reaibel they tell me ive got 10mb connection but i can download at the full 6mb/s for my 50mb conenction

Re: 100meg speed what should I be getting?

Speed tests tend to be a reliable indicator of your speed to their servers.

Of course, there are plenty of other causes for their results to be low. Usually its just down to a particular server either being on a pipe incapable of dealing with the demand. If you are seeing sub-par results over many servers, then its more likely to be your connection.

One thing to note though is that every speed test linked here so far has been an Ookla one (aka, the guys who run Speedtest.net) so if there could be something up with your PC/Browser that dosent like how their speedtests work.

Try the uSwitch one, I can't see Ookla branding on that: http://www.uswitch.com/broadband/speedtest/

Re: 100meg speed what should I be getting?

I've just had mine put in today and it's up and down all over the place. My old 50mb was rock solid day night.

Wi-fi from the SH to iOS devices was non existent and now it's up and down like a fiddlers elbow.
