Re: Getting disconnects, very annoying

as you JB said... down is low and up is high.

call 150/151 from your VM homephone and speak to broadband support, ask for a tech to be booked to sort out your power levels.

because you've got the modem, the tech may want to put a SuperHub in. The SuperHub can be put into modem mode to which you can link your router as your set is now.

The SuperHub has more capabilities with regards to downstream channels. Your currently limited to 4, soon it'll be 8 so theres a positive and negative to the SuperHub.

Ok thank you whats the super hub like now as a router? I've got a VM super hub in my cupboard.

I wonder if TIVO has caused that I've got two of them.

Re: Getting disconnects, very annoying

The SuperHub is ok... you'll only know when you test it yourself tbh. theres always modem mode if things don't work out to which you can hook up your own router.

did you have a SuperHub before requesting a stand alone modem? not sure whether they will activate that SuperHub you have already. The tech may give you a new one.

I had problems with the super hub disconnects using it as an all in one, when I first had 100 meg installed. So they sent me my a modem wnr 300 I was using before with 50meg, so went back to original set up with Netgear router off Virgin Media also.

I also have a better router a D link one that has 1 gig ethernet ports. I use 200mbs homeplugs.

The tivos won't be what's causing it, it will be the tech not moving you to the correct tap

Probably lazy tech that installed it, he was obese. But I had it installed about 6/7 months ago.

Will do

---------- Post added at 22:17 ---------- Previous post was at 20:41 ----------

I've been getting break up last couple of days on TiVo box on the HD channels. Could that be the power levels. I've got 4 connections off my virgin media box outside. 2 TiVo, v hd box and 100meg BB. Got phone line as well, does that also come off the outside box?

Re: Getting disconnects, very annoying

your home phone cable coming into your property is separate to your broadband/digital cable. when the tech comes tomorrow just let him power levels are completely out of range which is affecting everything. give him access to all your VM services, where ever the v/tivo boxes are and the broadband

Engineer has come and gone.

He replaced the white cable box on the wall in my living room and there's an adaptor plugged into the electrical socket in the wall running off it.

Kept my old modem and router. Only time will tell how it works but the level was done from 55 to 35.
