What hardware versions / revisions of the superhub are there?
I am talking about the Netgear Virgin VMDG480 standard superhub that is currently given out.
I think there are versions 1, 2 and 3. I was wondering if anyone knows specifically what was changed in each version if anything with regard to internal hardware or any changes at all for that matter. Was anything improved on any of them? Was it just factory firmware changes that shipped with them or actual hardware changes?
Does anyone find any differences between them and/or more/less stability or noticable changes in behaviour.
Thanks

Re: What hardware versions / revisions of the superhub are there?
Although many people have had multiple Superhubs (I had 5 in total and none worked properly which is why I'm on a modem now) nobody here is likely to have had more than 1 working at any one time to do any serious comparison testing. I doubt that most will even be aware that there have been several revisions - certainly I wasn't.

Fair enough. Would still be interested to hear from anyone in the know.

I have the business superhub - same hardware as residential, different firmware. On the base is moulded Rev 03 but in the config:-
Standard Specification Compliant EU DOCSIS 3.0
Hardware Version 2.00
Software Version V5.5.2R04-BU

Well since they are loaded with business firmware and VM Business have only started using them I suspect it was new. It certainly was in it's box and had the film covering on it.

Re: What hardware versions / revisions of the superhub are there?
when there refurbished they are completely stripped down so it would have all the wrappers on etc, I think they send out the same hub for business but load it with a different firmware, mine too says hardware revision 2.00 but havnt checked underneath
anyway, if it was a refurb it would be the other way round, more likely its an error made in the firmware

It costs more in labour to refurb a SH than they paid for the wretched thing in the first place. LOL.

Re: What hardware versions / revisions of the superhub are there?
I had 2 for a while and I think there is actually only 1 hardware revision.
If there is more than 1 I would expect it to be made to hide that fact to stop people ringing up with faults to get the newer one.
--edit--
I got 2 again as just remembered got a unopened one sent to me a month or so back. I will check if it has any visible differences but probably not.

ok after reading craigs post I checked.
My original superhub says on base rev01.PC
This new one says rev03.PC
Interesting.

I suspect they cost more to post out than they pay for them...

Re: What hardware versions / revisions of the superhub are there?
The gay abandon with with they dish them out suggests they certainly don't pay much for them but I'll accept that the huge volume increase generated by swapping them out may have resulted in a better deal from the courier.
