Re: Modem playing up?
On numerous routers a different coloured light usually means that the connected device has auto-negotiated to a lower speed on the Ethernet, what Internet Speed should you be getting and do you continue to get this?

Re: Modem playing up?
Do you have a spare network cable you could try connecting the modem to the router?

Re: Modem playing up?
Maybe with ADSL but not so usually with Cable. Where abouts do you live?

Re: Modem playing up?
The power levels above look normal for your connection so the issue must lie elsewhere.
If you call tomorrow or Monday after 0800 on 151 from a Virginmedia phone line or 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line and an agent will run some diagnostics with you.

Re: Modem playing up?
The problem the OP will have with ringing in is that he cannot wire to the modem direct. It'll be the first thing they ask him to do.
@nick you must have an ethernet lead somewhere as they will have been suppkied with both modem and router.

He has a modem and router which are connected together via an ethernet cable so all he does is take the cable from the router and plugs it into his laptop and reboots the modem.
Which is exactly what I would ask him to do on a call and so would any other agent.

His reply to this confused me. Actually this question has confused me, they must be connected with a network cable.
