Problems while trying to play an online game.

Hi there, i'm new to these forums and posting in hope to find an answer and solloution to a recently occuring problem.

I play an online game called ashenempires which is developed by www.pixelminegames.com

I have played in the past with little or no latency problems (and the few problems I had was problems with the actual hosting server which were resolved with a move to a different location).

Until about a month ago, my latency issues were little. But suddenly that all changes.

I've began recieveing huge latency spikes whilst playing the game. I've also began to recieve multiple disconnects which are very frustrating in a competitive game.

My ping to the game server is generally around 300-500 which I perfectly accept due to playing a game transatlantic (I'm from England and the games server is somewhere in the US).

However when the latency ping spikes occur my ping can top off 5-10,000 and occasionally disconnects me.

I have taken some tracerts - one of connecting to Pixelmine games and another of connecting to google.us (See bottom of page).

I am hoping that one of you out there will be able to help me identify the problem and suggest any possible solution.

About my network:

Running 10MB Virgin media through a wireless belkin router of which no settings have been changed since problems started to occur. I can play multiple other games fine with no latency or disconnect issues.

My OS is Windows Vista on a laptop with the specs 4GB RAM, dual 1.79ghz processor with an integrated nvidia card.

Finally my tracert:

Thanks for reading and any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I don't know what all this modem status means, but i'm pretty sure that many 'critical' lines should be there?
