It needs to be done in stages so as not to overload and kill the network, yes they could flick a switch but that would be madness.

I don't expect them to do that. I was replying to Chrys' comment.

irrelevant to those who dont, kwikbreaks is right, they need to sort out oversubscription.
will my average 300-400kbit upload on speedtests go up or down when the speeds are rolled out? hmm time will tell.

what you said is true, but given a reseg tends to take VM numerous months, the timeframe seems to not make sense.

They could not just flick a switch as it would probably cause major issues on the network.

That is the reason that they could not just flick a switch.

Re: 50mb upload increase finally
In realation to BT Infinity, i can get in my area but the speeds they provide are no where near the 40/10 they advertise.
Typical BT.

As do VM, when the engineer comes round you can see what you get.
You dont like it, you cancel.
With BT they advertise one thing and delivery another.
I get more than what VM advertise...

How is that possible? surely, what vm advertise and the configs placed on our modems by the ubr are the same.
10Mb= upto but not over 10Mb because of the modem configuration file
20Mb= upto but not over 20Mb because of the modem configuration file
50Mb= upto but not over 50Mb because of the modem configuration file
How can you achieve higher than what's available? Are you in a trial area with larger bandwidth capabilities or do you have an adsl connection?
If adsl then what speeds do you recieve compared with what's advertised?

Re: 50mb upload increase finally
Might want to delete your cache, the the uploads are meant to be 10:1 so I am guessing that what will happen, I am looking forward to a annoucement from VM, when that will be who knows, VM have choose the right time to do this as BT can't shout now about there upload speeds been faster as VM are now concerating more on upload.
