Linksys WRT54G2 and 50Mbs Line

Hello all,

I remember seeing a thread relating to the problem I'm having but I can't track it down so I thought I'd ask for help here from you learned fellows.

I currently have the Virgin 50Mps and am using the above router, my PC is hardlined into it and someone else in the house connects via wireless. The connection is fine until I try to d.load anything that takes more than 3 minutes or so and then the connection drops off. If i bypass the router and go directly through the modem (Ambit VMNG300) then the connection is fine.

I've tried flashing the firmware on the router to the latest version but the problem persists. When the connection drops the only way to get it back is by turning the router off and back on again or turning the modem off and on again, or sometimes both.

Apologies if this has been addressed before but as I say I can't seem to find the thread I saw.

Thanks for any help I can get.

Sounds like the router is faulty then.

Did you get a VM supplied router? Can you test with this?

VM supplied a D-Link DIR-615, admittedly I haven't tried it with this yet

I would give it a try, it's a N router anyway.
