Constantly getting disconnected

I have 20mb virgin cable, in Edinburgh, and i am constantly getting disconnected, i believe it is connected to getting this error 'Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - ...' in the modem event log page.

It isn't so bad during the day but still happens, but it becomes very annoying during the night maybe few minutes between each disconnection and basically makes the internet unusable before this week we had a perfect connection solid as a rock for the last year and a half.

using the supplied router but I could take it out but don't think that's the problem.

so now its during the day it hasnt given me this error Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received since 9:30 and the connection feels fine
