DOCSIS 1.1 - does it make a difference?
Having got used to seeing "registered with a DOCSIS 1.0 config" in the CM log, it looks like it rebooted today and now gets a DOCSIS 1.1
So, any differences to expect?
There are things that 1.1 supports. like multicast, QOS and suchlike, but I'm guessing that this is actually only a maintenance update, an update at the headend.

You might see no difference, or you might see a drop in oversubscription (if it exists in your area)

Re: DOCSIS 1.1 - does it make a difference?
You've been moved to a new UBR (or BSR...not sure) which the 50mb customers and 20mb customers are on to relieve network capacity. I noticed a speed difference when I moved over to it because the previous UBR was a bit oversubscribed during peak times. When you click on connection at the top you will be .cable.virginmedia.com rather than .cable.ntl.com or .bluyonder.co.uk or whichever you were now.

FYI The legacy uBRs are being migrated to 1.1 as well so this may not be the case.
OP - it makes zero difference to your service at all, it's being used largely as a security measure. I see you've checked a few features out, check out BPI+ compared with BPI, one uses purely MAC based authentication the other offers options to authenticate modems with certificates as well.

Re: DOCSIS 1.1 - does it make a difference?
When I was docsis 1 I only ever got the full 20meg in the early hours if I was lucky. Since being moved to 1.1 I get the full 20 meg all the time, even at peak.
Sometimes my ready light is solid sometimes its blinking. Don't give a flying one so long as the BB keeps on as it is.
This is the first time my 20 meg has worked how it should. I don't expect it will last though. VM being what they are.
