Dlink DIR-615 & PS3
Hello all. just been trying to set up above with the D-LINK usb with no luck i set up the router as Moldova says on here, that seems ok but when installing software for usb keep geting aborted meesage & may not be installed, i tried seting up wireless on PS3 it picks up router & ip address but then stops on no internet connection, please can someone help as i dont want to use modem with router. Thanks in advance for any help.

to be honest i didn't use the software with mine i just plugged it in and let vista install the drivers no probs

You don't have to use the modem with router. It just means you can only use one device at a time hard wired if you only use the modem

i wanted to use the wireless usb with my PS3 fed up trying now so have used a ethernet cable & hard wired it to router, might not get as good speed that way but its working now, thanks for your replys.

my PS3 says im connected at 11mb & thats hard wired from Dlink DIR-615 so tahts not that good sure i got more on my 02 bb. but cant sort it with wireless so i give up.

PS3 network adapters (both wired and wi-fi) are crap. Also PSN is very variable when checking net speeds. I have hard-wired 100MB on 50MB BB connection and most PS3 ever reported is 6.2MB. Laptop and desktop on same router and same physical cables give 51MB d/l speed. Tried with router and direct to modem with same results.

PS3 is bang on pretty much with mine, 20mb connection, wired to DIR615 and says 18.6mbps
