Surprise upgrade?

For the last few days I have been getting readings similar to this.

Should my upstream be this good? I am not on an upstream trial, although Coventry is one of the test areas.

There goes another!!

Re: Surprise upgrade?

I really do hope this is the start of a national roll out for faster upload speeds. Probably not but one can hope.

Down speed 50320kbps - Up Speed 4950kbps

I couldn't get a copy of the result without registering. Spyware Doctor said it was a bad site so I didn't want to register.

My upstream is as follows:

Cable Modem Upstream
US-1 US-2 US-3 US-4
Channel Type 2.0 N/A N/A N/A
Channel ID 3 N/A N/A N/A
Frequency
(Hz) 45800000 N/A N/A N/A
Ranging Status Success N/A N/A N/A
Modulation 16QAM N/A N/A N/A
Symbol Rate
(KSym/sec) 5120 N/A N/A N/A
Mini-Slot Size 1 N/A N/A N/A
Power Level
(dBmV) 45.75 N/A N/A N/A
T1 Timeouts 0
T2 Timeouts 0 0 0 0
T3 Timeouts 46 0 0 0
T4 Timeouts 2 0 0 0

Key data I assume is the KSym/sec 5120 element. It appears I have been reconfigured to 5.0mb upload.

By the way I have been using the Samknows kit since Xmas. This trial I assume is unrelated to 5mb or 10mb upstream trials.

Re: Surprise upgrade?

Post the Operrational config as that is the page that tells us what speed that you are on.

Re: Surprise upgrade?

Again - http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/34910080-post4.html - Huddersfield was confirmed as an upstream trial site so fair to assume Coventry likewise given the URL only included those two and was not the same as the Samknows performance trial.

You are on a DOCSIS 2 type upstream:
Quote:
Channel Type 2.0
Unlike the rest of us on:
Quote:
Channel Type 1.0
You are on a 6.4MHz wide, 20.48Mbit total bandwidth upstream channel:
Quote:
Modulation 16QAM // Symbol Rate (KSym/sec) 5120
As opposed to the rest of us on 10.24Mbit 3.2MHz wide channels:
Quote:
Modulation 16QAM // Symbol Rate (KSym/sec) 2560
And I suspect if you go to http://192.168.100.1/CmOpConfig.asp you'll find under Primary Upstream Service Flow
Quote:
Max Traffic Rate : 5120000 bps

They aren't, limited trial at the moment not rollout.

If you're upgrading to 50Mbit as you've mentioned a few times previously that's probably the way forward for higher upstream in the nearer future.

I guess this pretty well confirms it then. I went to Broadbandings suggested http://192.168.100.1/CmOpConfig.asp and got the data below.
