Re: VM to monitor File Sharing

Thanks to them saying they were going to use it i have spent a couple of months making sure that my data was secure via a vpn. That has been very good for me as i feel it will now help me in relation to traffic shaping .

So it looks like my vpn will be staying

What kind of throughput do you get from that VPN?

Depending on the time of day around 30 meg . That's ok speed for me considering my data is not snooped on.

Re: VM to monitor File Sharing

if you ask me the whole thing is a joke. In the past they have justified stm by basically saying that it is only 1% of peeps who are being traffic managed and it is because they are downloading illegal content so hence the large volume of traffic being downloaded. But now we are also protocol throttling as well to target illegal downloaders, so if we are only targeting illegal content and managing p2p and usenet, doesn't it make sense that there is now no need for stm?

If they keep stm in addition to protocol managing they are being hypocrits and basically pretending to offer an unlimited connection but saying they'll restrict anyone who actually uses it. If 75% of network traffic is p2p/torrents and they are now managing that traffic, there is no need for stm.
