Just moved home and got a netgear router from Virgin, can anyone recommend a good wireless pci card as the pc I use upstairs for gaming is getting a poor signal with the usb adapter.
cheers
I believe that the Netgear router is fitted with a removable antenna. You can buy a high gain antenna from Maplin which should improve matters especuially if assisted by siting your router in as high a position as possible and away from blockages such as shelves.
USB adapters can be put on the end of a USB extender cable since just a few inches can make a heck of a difference.
Otherwise, I've found the Belkin PCI-e wireless adapter to be efficient - and I have similar problems in my house.
it was a very long time ago now I posted my first experience on them worth trying to fix it for free but the linsys 85meg ones for 20 quid a shots worth it
