Weird Website Problems

Yesterday i started having problems where after an hour or so using the net i would suddenly find i couldnt access any websites, the page would keep coming up as cant be displayed.. If i then unplug the modem and leave it 30 secs and plug it back in it seems ok for a while longer and happens again. Now today its happened to me atleast 4 times. The only thing i did notice yesterday my IP changed from an 82. to an 86.

Re: Weird Website Problems

Which modem? A look at the config pages at http://192.168.100.1 would be good - specifically the downstream frequency, if what I think is wrong, is wrong.

Re: Weird Website Problems

might be your SNR. as the above post suggests, check your downstream/upsteam and operation config. do not post anything to do with your MAC btw.

Re: Weird Website Problems

Sounds similar to my problem ( http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/12...-so-often.html ). Are you using a set-top-box modem, or a standalone one?

Did you check to see if any repair works were being done in your area? Did you phone tech support? Try bypassing your router? There's a million things you should have tried before posting here, that you haven't mentioned trying.

Re: Weird Website Problems

I was actually suggesting the starting frequency was wrong, a reboot will fix that temporarily, as will doing nothinig but that takes longer, the dpx 100 is notorious for it. Need to know what frequency it's on - and which network, NTL use mostly ambit and they hopefully don't lock on to the wrong frequency because there is no option to change it.

Did you consider that not everyone knows everything about how their set up works and the user was posting here looking for help!? isn't that the one of the main uses of a forum? or is it just to bitch about slow internet connections?
