Can i swap my modem?

Can i swap my modem?
I have an older Ambit grey type modem. A friend of mine is moving house and has the newer,smaller one. If i just swap my modem for his,what if any issues will i have?

Could i buy a combined modem/wireless router and get it working?

Virgin will not swap ur modem unless its faulty or causing a fault for ur service for example if u decide to upgrade to 20mb as the old 200 doesnt really like 20mb service.

as for buying a cable modem, the only modems u can use on the Virgin networks are the ones they supply.

well it wont work for one as your current modem will be linked to your account call virgin 150/ 151 if wish to upgrade and get a new modem

The modem in my mates house is likely to get binned. Would VM be likely to authorise the mac code for it if i phoned them?
