Re: Finally time to leave vm?
Couldn't agree more. I get full speed whenever I want it, here I'd get an estimated 4.5Mbit on ADSL.

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
Just come back to VM after a year with Sky, Great TV, but boy o boy does the internet speeds suck through a BT line, impossible nearly to play online games, and at peak times just downloading a web page seemed to take an eternity, I'll stick to Virgin Media thanks.

Errr....No, not all BT lines suck, and playing Battlefield on it is certainly better for me than VM at the moment.
Used to be good and all that but for now I'm trying BT (not their service just their copper to the exchange)
I've still got VM as backup

That was because you took sky BB which is a cheap product. I have had no problems playing online games infact my pings have dropped to below 20 now yet with VM for the last 6 months I had it the pings were 40 to anything over 400.

No number missing and it was actually £1 for XL TV until the price increase. It was just an offer i got in the post 12 months ago and was meant to be only for 12 months, but towards the end of the 12 months they messed up the discount and when i phoned to sort it out they said it had been added incorrectly, and in fixing it they will make it a life time deal which remains to be seen! I do pay full price for my XL BB and standard phone line though.

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
Am i not correct in saying that this company still is NTHELL and Telewest :| Under a Virgin Brand name?
It shouldnt be Bring Back NTHELL
it should be bring back TELEWEST..
Blueyonder Broadband was one of the best things ever.. when it came out.. and as far as im concerned.. iv had say 4 issues in 10 years... all of which have been resolved in under a week. (appart from one i had an issue with for 6 months but that turned out to be a faulty modem)
Yeah they have had their issues.. and their problems
but at the end of the day the people you speak to on the phone are still TELEWEST/NTL agents from the SAME call centres they had years back
its probably still the same NTL/TW Engineers and as well as that ITS DEFINATLY the same NTL/TW Customer Care/Services.
the only difference is a name change
it would be NTL Telewest.
My understanding of it was..
NTL went into Liquidation
and TW Bought them out...or helped them out
they then merged and became NTL/Telewest
and for a year and a half have been trying to get the NTL systems and the TW systems to work together..
FOR EG..
i used to be on Telewest Hops when i tracerted the BBC..
now i go through NTL Routes.
NTL was always known as the terrible side of the company
where as Telewest were quite reliable and decent.
am i wrong? or have i picked all of this up wrong
i worked for Telewest.. that then changed to Virgin Media.
we were still using TWest systems and as far as im aware they still are to this day.
if anything there may be a virgin logo added here and there.
Its a story thats seemed unclear to alot of people even the employees.
