Re: Finally time to leave vm?
50-50 at the moment for me. If i still had my cable, i'd stay no probs. ADSL now with draconian STM and Phorm debacle, and now the added PR desaster regarding the BPI, things may change.
It's up and running a beauty at the moment, but it's been a 4 month wait! and no explination.
A lowering of the price structure would persuade me to stay a bit longer.
TV side of things I have to say, I didn't find it value at all, so Iwas glad i could ditch that.

only thing you need bt for is the line, get some other unlimited non-phorm isp like Be* or O2 etc etc etc.

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
No intention of moving to ADSL, had no problems with VM or NTL BB, so why should I leave?

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
I have always been critical of VM for the service, they don't provide, there CS, is very poor, and they don't provide the TV channels, that you want, and they waste money,(ie the sky court case), but they are cheaper than Sky, and there V+ box is better than Sky+, so my decision, is that l will stay with VM, until such time, as they give me more hassle, than they give me now.

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
I'm doing a bit of both, downgrading to 4 from 20, and my BT line is now enabled, with the internet for me to follow on Tuesday. Cost me a bit, but wtf it's my only bit of pleasure :p
Reports on the ADSL side of things to follow shortly....

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
Staying for now although mailny because of the combination of my employer paying the bill (I still think they charge a lot compared to the competition) and living in-between 2 exchanges so probably guaranteed sub 2 meg speeds with ADSL.
We're looking at moving soon though and will be seriously considering ADSL at that point.

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
Just signed a new, cheaper, 12 month contract so I'm staying. Plus the fact that I can only get 2MB Broadband on ADSL in my area, where-as (fingers crossed) I'll be on 10MB soon on my Virgin Broadband.

Re: Finally time to leave vm?
Well I have to say that I'm heading off VM internet soon (probably their TV & Phone services too), already I've had problems relating to their (VM) recent activities.
I'm not one of those users that use P2P or similar software to download movies & things, the only downloading/uploading I do, other than checking my email (which is suffering problems causing no end of trouble for me lately ), is entirely work related. I only use my internet browser to visit three sites, this one, Wikipedia and the BBC News to keep up-to-date with current events.
I don't particularly like the idea of others knowing what I do at home for my work, which is rather sensitive in nature, and my bosses are to put it politely 'miffed off' with it too, they've already cancelled their contract with VM and have recommended to all staff to do the same (even offering to pay the 'Contract Remainder' for each of us because of the 12 month minimum duration). Also they're getting their own private direct connection & servers for the internet, which they intend to let us connect to via mobile means.
If my bosses are doing this because of VM's actions then I have no choice but to do as they say and in all honesty I see absolutely no reason not to.
At least with NTL, who may have had their minor faults, we felt secure and actually did have an unlimited & unrestricted internet service.
So I bid you all farewell for now & good luck to those who have decided to stay with VM.
Sparkytus.
