BT have a special offer on at the moment, reconnect for £29.99 but you must stay for 18 months. further info here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....html?t=878915

Re: STM Statement

I still owe BT money from the year 1066, they keep sending me begging letters to come back to BT but I'm not havin' it, I know as soon as I give 'em my address they will want the full whack for a new line, pity really because I could do with a dose of Be's unlimited broadband. Right now in my area VM's traffic strangulation starts at 10 am and I'm finding it a real pain, I never know how near or far I am from activating the traffic strangulation, oops just realised I'm STM'd as I'm typing this, current download speed is a massive 967 kbps.

New rules are not running in Edinburgh yet AFAIK but with the special offer from BT and the price reduction from O2 for mobile customers I'm dumping Virgin.

Re: STM Statement

New rules are running in Enfield where I live & have been for about the past 3 -4 weeks, I've come to this conclusion regarding the new rules, download NOTHING before 9pm and your OK, I mean this is a joke I have DU meter installed & still cannot accurately predict when I will trigger STM, it seems to kick in even when I keep my downloads within the allowance. No problem if your on a 20 Mbit line, big problem if your on a 4 Mbit line!
