Cable modem Date

Hi, The logs for my cable modem show a date of 1970 (the default when first powered up). Seems it can't connect to whatever server hands this info out (actual message is ToD request sent- No Response received).

It doesn't seem to affect anything, but should I be concerned?

Cheers

No it does the same with most modems and can safely be ignored, when a modem is rebooted every updates is sent to that modem even ones it does not require.

Re: Cable modem Date

Thanks for the reply.

I did know about the multiple config files that are sent to each modem, but my query was regarding the time/date that is normally set when a connection is made to the Virgin ToD Server (I'm assuming that means 'Time of Day').

My last 'real' date was on the 13th March. Since then it's been stuck at 1970 (rather like my musical taste).

As I stated above it is ridiculous but my modem has similar dates, to see if your date changes unplug the power and re insert after 10 seconds or so.

Do not worry about the dates they are "SNAFU" to put it into words.
