Do you think that would have happened if all you'd done was moan on CableForum?
No, i had to make a report 3 times to the ISPA and write letters of complaint endlessly.

If ur waiting for the 4-10mb upgrades then at the end of ur day wait ur turn, Virgin have better things to focus on like over subscription problems.

Keeping on at them wont make them go any faster to do the 4-10mb upgrades.

Phone them?
Tell them to hurry up the upgrades?
When have I ever suggested such things?

And why are you replying to my response to Welshchris's post rather than to my response to yours?

I agree. When I started with ntl it was 512 kbs and cost 35 quid or more. Now I get 4MB for 25 quid and its soon to go up to 10MB. That would have been unimaginable six or seven years ago when I first signed up. I tried Talk Talk's ADSL offering last year and quickly gave it up as it was utterly useless, even if it was only 10 quid month.

Couldn't agree more, I had a similar experience with Tiscalis "super fast broadband", also don't forget to add the line rental to that tenner and there's not a lot of difference in the prices.

In fact I use Talk Talk for my phone, so do pay the line rental, but their unlimited calls within the EU is of particular value to me, so it offers a better deal than using the Virgin line, which I used to have as in the 'old days' you had to take the TV and the phone line along with the BB. Times have changed, that's for sure.

I agree. Been upgraded from 600k > 1mb > 4mb and soon to 10mb. If you're a heavy user then if you're not happy, use a different service

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

well IMO virgin is the best isp ive ever used, back when i was on arange i was paying for upto 8mb, when i first got it they gave me 5.5mb (which was what my line was capable of) but gradually it got less and less to the point i was only recieving 600k!! ive never had this type of problem with virgin and im grateful that im gettin the speed im paying for (not to mention im getting the 4mb for 17 quid a month becuase of a wonderful offer they gave me with the phone and tv over the net) anyway my point is, no matter how long it takes them to upgrade me to 10mb, its kicking the ass out of my previous experiences with ADSL. Go virgin!!! just be patient, and be grateful we arnt still stuck on 512/1mb or even worse, dial up!!!

AND IT STILL DOESNT DO THE BLOODY HOUSEWORK!!

Unfortunetly that's not true for most who are only home during peak hours and at work/out/or in bed during the other hours, considering what they get stm'd too, ADSL is looking like a better route...and VM are losing a fair amount of customers over this and the phorm business.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

How in the blue hell can you moan about a free upgrade?!

Some people have a right ruddy nerve - you get something for free and all you can do is moan about it! Getting a sodding life & some chuffing respect!

Edit: Just to rant some more as reading through the post some more has just get me more annoyed.

Why cant some of you idiots see this ITS FREE - so in other words, shut the hell up and wait, like the rest of us people or pay to upgrade - I did and wouldn't look back I get 19.8MB so I am pleased.

If I was Virgin Media I would just not bother doing the upgrade - personally If my business had customers like some of you and you where moaning because I was giving you FREE upgrades, I just wouldnt bother. Some of you just need to grow up and wait. I expect there is a lot of behind the scenes work to do.

Rant over. Expecially at 4:40AM

I agree, £36 for 4MB and Phone is a super deal. I could go on paying that for another year and still not feel out of pocket.
