Any other gamers having REALLY bad ping last 2 days ?

I'm a gamer on Call of Duty 4 and CSS and am getting an 80-90 ping at the moment on my 20mbit, I've checked my rates and various other things and there's nothing wrong, I've tried going on various servers and its the same on all of them, I play with a lot of other people who are with VM and they all have ping problems too.

You guessed it, nothing on the Virgin Media Service Status page.

I also cant download more than 400kb/sec even though I'm on 20mbit, something is seriously up the last couple of days, cant believe they havent bothered to put anything on their site when clearly a lot of people are having issues!

My ping on speedtest.net is 137!!!!! lol :o and the download speed was 4650kb/sec

What a joke......any suggestions please guys? :[

forget the past couple of days, try the last few weeks. my ping on my ususal cod4 uk server has never been under 70.

I was suffering last night quite badly in cod4, normally 60 - 80 ....last night I was 120+ on server I play on regularly.

The pings are erratic, and have been for ages now, not only that but what is far worse is the loss, which makes shots disappear :/
To be fair on a good day I usually ping 18 - 20 odd to a Battlefield 2142 server.
I have found that when one or both of my lads are on at the same time then the connection goes to pot big time, making it totally unplayable even on 20 meg.

I am considering getting another line put in just for my gaming connection, that's how I feel at the moment. That may well be no better, but hey...

My COD4 ping goes from 250-999 and has done so for atleast 5 weeks.

NTL used to be the best for pings now its the worst on UK servers.

Last week I hard set ntl modem 250 and PC nic to 100mb/s and my ping dropped from 400 to 40 immediately and sayed that way all night. Have not re-tested this week. Will post back.

But its saturday morning and I'm getting 150kbs/150kbs using speedtest on my 4mb line.

been fine for me always <40ms pings any time of the day. fyi the ping on speedtest's site isn't exactly accurate, gives me ~500ms

Past few days on [NTHW] server for CoD4 my ping has been 60 - 80m/s

The [NTHW] COD4 server is temporarily running on a 20meg Virgin Media connection. With up to 13 players connected to it last night, and no complaints of lag, that shows there is little wrong in some areas with VM's internet services.

At the moment getting quite good pings on a lot of UK based servers, 27-60ms, 17:00 on a sat afternoon.
Last night, after 21:00, just forget it 1000+. For a package that states "for gamers" it's unreliable.
I may get decent uploads and downloads, but I like to game. First half of last year it was mega reliable, but since Sept 07 onwards it's been a bit pot luck.

I play cod4 and also get 100/120 ping when iwas geting 40ish all the time this started to happen in the past couple of days and i know a few lads what are on vergin media and having the same problem totaly suxs!
