Any other gamers having REALLY bad ping last 2 days ?

At least BT does have a minimum allowed before it is calsssed as an automatic fault online. Virgin Media have started to over supscribe again in many areas.. I cvan downgrade anymore already downed to the 2 for £20 package so looking like I start to look about. Wonder if BT will have some insight and think about offering free return for a month or two if thye do phone will be moved back asap to allow me the option to ove BB if it continues.

I've had high pings these last few days as well. Normally get 18ms pings to some uk servers. At the moment I am getting like 80 to 120 ms pings.

right then, my pings are real crap tonight. done a ping trace and ho ho ho look where the problem starts. 50% packet loss every 30 seconds or so.


this is getting beyond a joke now. i don't suppose there's much i can do is there apart from doing these every night for evidence? starting to lose faith (well started losing a while ago) but it's starting to come to the boil.

icmp pings aren't the best to use as afaik that ntl router with 50% packet loss is set to drop icmp pings if load gets high and seeing as it's the only one "dropping" packets i dont see that as the cause.

although me and you take different routes to that server, the last 4 hops are the same and i get the following:

hop 9 would likely to be set to have icmp replys as low priority like the other main ntl routers and as hops 10/11 have low pings nowhere near hop 9's that would "confirm" that to be the case. seeing an 80ms ping increase after euroconnex.net is no surprise to me, i have had the "pleasure" of dealing with them before and i think the record was having my connect lost ~30 times in a minute

ok you got me there. but that packet loss is consistent with what was happening in game tonight, as i was constantly being told.........i was a slide monkey (and that was my own clan mates)

Even when you get half decent pings, it doesn't mean the experience will be good in game, the jitters can still be very bad. If there is anything even slightly wrong with the network then gamers will pick up on it in a flash, even with good download speeds.

I've noticed the same issues myself for the last couple of days. Our clan servers where I normally ping 38-40 are currently up to 80-100.

A couple of the other guys on Virgin are reporting the same. There's no doubt in my mind that something is different.

i have exact same issue, had it for a while now

a few servers based in london are all pinging very high 80-200, and others which dont ping as bad are still twice what they were

something somewhere isnt right but its been like this a while and i havent heard anything about a fix or even acknowledgment of a problem

i have 2 tf2 servers, one based in london docklands which is pinging higher than normal but not that bad 60-100. my teamhost one also in london afaik is pinging 80-200 :/

Been having same issues - 80-90 ping in our UK clan server last couple times I played. I have noticed that until late evening the pings and net speeds have been a joke lately.

Just finished a CoD4 session, and once again I am the only poor sod who had a 100+ ping...I asked if anyone was on VM and out of 26 players, I was the only VM customer...and the only one with ping/lag issues...this is getting seriously bad....why the hell is nothing getting done!

i just got done playing on a few uk tf2 servers and all was fine here (south west manc)

I struggled to play CS again but tracerts at differant times kept showing a problem with one NTL losing packest from 10 to 30%.

213.105.242.245 is always red with packet loss from 10 to 30% even when all others are ok this is still red.

This is the best it has been all day almost 1.30 in the morning something needs sorting and heads at the top shouild roll for the bad service we are getting.

Vm dont seem to care about capping speed and packet loss lateley this weekend after a few weeks of good has been terrible capped speed at 5mb (didnt download a thing to be shaped as i was at a lan previous day) and return of great packet loss. someone wants to wake vm up for gamers, seems a cheek to advertise seriously low pings in games mags when they cant deliver.
