php in webspace

Do all levels of virgin broadband have access to php in the personal webspace? I can't get it to work but don't know if its me or the fact I dont' have it as part of my service.

No server side scripting of any description is supported by VM

Re: php in webspace

VM and its other names before the re-badge havent seen fit to include serverside anything to it customers on their internal web servers, so no, you cant make it work there.

its always possible that some exec high up in VM have finally decided to bring the VM web space into the 21st century, and do as every other ISP of any commercial size does, and give its users some decent size of internal webspace and a real web server side app/util access for its users?.

is there ANYTHING on the VM intranet about a possible upgrade on the VM servers to finally give some SS apps and more space guys?.

id love to be able to run some REBOL scripts and store some of my apps in my own little sandboxed VM webspace but cant as they havent turned on the options.

it makes good sense for VM as a UK wide ISP to give us a few gig+ space each and serverside access as then many more VM users will use that space and so potentialy save lots of external routing/data throughput cash, as we dont need to go elswere (the US) and access other outside webspaces for our content.

ohh perhaps the little BY part of VM was forword thinking as the test page http://www.anfield.pwp.blueyonder.co...s/test-php.php seems to imply they had some small part of the server side apps working for its old users?.

NO USE TO THE REST OF US THOUGH

Re: php in webspace

php is still available to existing ex blueyonder customers who upgraded" their pwp for an an extra £4p/m (IIRC), however the option to upgrade was withdrawn with the rebrand to virginmedia.

It sucked anyway. If you were going to pay, go get some real webhosting

Precisely

http://hostforweb.com/packages/detailes.php?plan=1

Roughly £2.50 per month and it's a lot better than the BY offering
