Re: no broadband in stafford area

hi,

Can you access your modem's internal config page ? try browsing to http://192.168.100.1 username root password root

If you can access that page can you post your upstream and downstream power levels ?

I will take a look and see if there is anything i can workout from those.

Cheers

Re: no broadband in stafford area

as far as i can see you have an issue with your upstream power level. This should ideally be somewhere above 28DbmV. I would suggest you try and borrow someone's phone to contact VM to get this issue raised as i think you are going to need a tech to sort this out. As you can see it isn't showing the upstream connection as "locked"

If anyone can tell any different then be my guest as signal levels are not my strong point !

Hope this helps !

yeah its right on the borderline for the 250. I would give VM a call and get someone out to sort the problem out properly.

Re: no broadband in stafford area

i'd say its a hardware fault VMs side...maybe a failing amplifier usually causes signal levels to change erraticly.

r00t will probably have a better answer

why not try posting your problem in the virginmedia.support.tv newsgroup instead of ringing them?
