4mb untill it gets to 18:30
I get 4mb till about 18:30 then my speed drops down to 1mb if I'm lucky
Is this normal
as I connect to work via vpn anything less than 2mb makes it extremley choppy
What can i do other than got over to BT

I have the same problem, drops from 4mbs to around 100kbs from about 6.00pm onwards, although not tonight  , well not yet anyway. I am looking to change my ISP, been quoted £125 to get a BT line installed  , but it may be worth it in the longer term. |

Are you being traffic managed? STM
"During peak times, the top 3% of downloaders on the Size: L package download at least 800MB of traffic each, with the top 3% of uploaders uploading at least 325MB of traffic each.
Any users hitting this amount during peak times (4pm till 9pm) will have their broadband speed temporarily traffic managed – their download speed will be set to 1Mb, with their upload speed set to 128Kb. This will last for 5 hours from when the traffic management policy is applied."

I have a similar issue, and not related to the STM. Before starting work I had my uTorrent limited to 5kb/s up and 30kb/s down, which I forgot to 'de-limit' before heading off. Got back at 7pm and limited to 1mb down / 100kbit up. At most I transferred 324+54 = 378MB.
On 4mbit the STM shouldnt kick in until 750MB transferred.
This STM crap is getting outta hand... Im paying for a 4mbit service so I should be getting it.

I agree, if VM cannot guarantee it they shouldn't charge for it,, give a discount when they limit your connection.  |

if and when it goes upto 10mb does that mean the 1mb limit or will they take 10mb down to somthing more reasonable like 4mb
like 4mb shoul be halved to 2mb not 1mb
but thats just common sense perhaps LOL
