Question about upgrading from M to XL Broadband

I have an NTL 250 modem is it normal to have a engineer come out when you upgrade? I received a letter a couple of days ago saying here is your pin number you will need this when the engineer sets you up and gives you the setup disk.

I already have a pin and a setup disk from when I originally joined, they still have not been in contact though about the engineer.

I would have thought VM just needed to upgrade you pack from their end. After all have charged me for XL since boxing day

When I look in my modem config I get the following figures: -

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 2048000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 200000

When I do a speed test it gives about 1.92mbps download

Re: Question about upgrading from M to XL Broadband

No, you should just get the new configuration sent to your modem. When I upgraded from 4 to 10 (before it was upped to 20) I got a modem sent me as I was connecting through the STB. Still didn't need an engineer...

Your modem config when on XL should be:

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 20480000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 768000
