albion107 is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: a bit of sound advice needed

You don't actually buy the STB. The charge is for the installation and is for a V+ box. Should you have any problems give them a call, should the stb faulty it will be replaced.

Re: a bit of sound advice needed

From what I read in the leaflet promoting the 1/2 price V+ installation, that was one of their plus points over Sky, i.e. if it goes wrong, they fix it since you rent, not buy.

Re: a bit of sound advice needed

i think what you are saying is that when you first got the v+ you had to pay a monthly charge and you are still paying that monthly charge. correct? but i think that you probably got the v+ before virgin started charging the installation fee instead of the monthly fee so the £75 is probably the outstanding payment left from the £150 so yes you will get free repairs if you pay the £75 because virgin own the box but you have paid in full the 'installation fee' so therefore will no longer have to pay a monthly fee.
