Virgin Access Points

Morning all,

I have 3 ntl/virgin access points in my house. 1 on groundfloor, 1 on second floor and the last in the attic.

At the minute I have my modem and wireless router connected to the virgin access point in the attic. This is causing problems with the wireless signal in a newly built extension.

I was thinking would it be possible to connect the modem and router to the access point on the second floor? Would I be able to do a straight swap or would the access point need registering at virgins end? I have a mate who works for virgin if he could help just haven't had time to chat to him.

We only have broadband with virgin now (used to have tv/phone) and the 2 access points on the ground and second floor haven't had anything connected to them for over a yr.

Thanks for any help

Re: Virgin Access Points

The Access Points will more than likely just all be split off from one piece of Coax, it can't hurt to try, although signal levels and success rates may vary

Cheers for the fast reply, will have a go tonight

If i disconnect the router from the virgin access point will I need to enter the pin details on the set-up screen again or will it be ok? Just checking so I can find my details before I do anything, if I need them.
