Dreadful upload speeds...
Hi, I'm a 20MBit customer and I have a 768Kbit upload, I run my own web radio station and when doing shows I upload at 128kbit per second for the duration of it all, which isn't much at all really. But I've had the broadcast software warning me that it can't upload quick enough recently. So I've had to drop it to 56kbit which is nothing at all - and it keeps cutting out.
This is getting more and more frequent - what the hell is going on? I'm in the Warrington area by the way.
I've ran my radio station for over a year now with no issues until these past few weeks. What the hell is going on with this awful service? Are others getting awful upload speeds?

Test 1: 1024K took 6203 ms = 165.1 KB/sec, approx 1360 Kbps, 1.33 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 6469 ms = 158.3 KB/sec, approx 1304 Kbps, 1.27 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 5984 ms = 171.1 KB/sec, approx 1410 Kbps, 1.38 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 13125 ms = 156 KB/sec, approx 1285 Kbps, 1.25 Mbps
Overall Average Speed = approx 1340 Kbps, 1.31 Mbps
I wish I knew.
Ok that's download but it still fits into the category of awful service.

Re: Dreadful upload speeds...
Right, it seems I get good speeds, but my modem is throwing a wobbler every so often and then some websites (including my shoutcast server I rent) won't connect/load for 30-60 seconds, and after that everything is normal for 5-10 minutes.
Stuff like BBC seems fine all the time, but I'm just doing some Christmas shopping now and some sites will not work for a minute or so, and I see the U/S and D/S lights making hardly any actvitiy. However I do not lose Sync.
Any ideas?

What's the route to your server? Run a trace from your machine, post the results up here... (start -> run, type cmd, hit enter, type tracert <serveryouaresendingto>, hit enter, wait for it to finish, select it all and copy it in to a reply on here)
(sorry if you already knew how to do this, can never be sure on the interwebs these days!)
Though saying that, from your other description of the lights going out then service returning a minute or so later, have you refreshed the modem status pages whilst it happens? Maybe your connection's a bit dodgy or one of the cables has come loose or there's some damage or maintenance being done up the line from you?

20mbps? Pfff. Made the switch from Be* ADSL2+ to VM XL 20Mb due to craptacular BT phone line (only getting 10Mb due to poor line). Was it a good decision? We'll see...
