problems in ng19 ?

had no net access all day then it suddenly came on about 4pm this has been happening everyday for me for the past few weeks, some time between 1am and 8am my modem drops its connection then it does not come back until some time between 4pm and 6pm every day..

ive double checked everything i can think of my end and it seems to be correct (connections etc) so im left wondering if it could be a fault with the modem or somethings happening in my area, i checked the signal levels that are posted in one of the pinned threads at the top and everything seems to be with in the limits if im reading it right.

Maybe a post about it on this newsgroup, if you are on cable, might yield some result.

Re: problems in ng19 ?

You probably mean 20Mb don't you?
Post about your problem now then.
From my past experience you will probably need an engineer to call and unless your connection is still down when he calls you will be very lucky if he even bothers to investigate anything. It sounds like you need to stipulate a definate morning appointment.

Re: problems in ng19 ?

hi well as far as i know im still on the 10mb connection i have not asked for it to be upgraded ans dont believe i have been ??

i rang them up today and they have booked an engineer to come out on the 19th between 12 and 4pm. they got me to reboot the modem a couple of times and when i told them the only light that was flashing on the modem was the D/S light he decided i needed an engineer, that was about 10am.

ive had no lights on apart from the D/S flashing all morning i just nipped out and when i came back about 15mins ago the modem had connected then lost connection when i tried to access the net and then came back after about 5mins of frantic light flashing, so im hoping its going to hold now for the rest of the day!

Re: problems in ng19 ?

Well just hope your connection is down when your engineer calls.
10meg was auto-upgraded to 20meg months ago. It caused no end of problems for no end of people. In a nutshell it overloaded the network. I would not be surprised if your problems are related to that in some way.
