So everyone is agreing then that we are limited does this not bring us back to the old case of vm and false advertising then  .
And if you notice it dosent say the top 3% of customers in the country or in total ahh the carefull wording of it all it could be the top 3% in your street for all you know  .

in certain areas, just 3% of customers were uploading and/or downloading such a large amount of content that it was affecting the service for other users in these areas.
I think using the word areas is a big mistake because if you think like you're thinking that it could be certain streets, then STM for that?!

I just heard that a guy called Alex Brown from the inside has stated the new STM went live last night anyone else know this and can confirm? ill test it anyway with a big download lol

It went live the night before, last night was just a fixer upper if you will, which went extremely wrong as you could tell by the outage.
But yes. the new STM rollout is fully complete according to network planning.

Just remember i havent had chance to try it out yet, so i cant validate what the top man in network planning dept says, have had confirmation from alex that its finished though.

I can confirm that the new usage rules are in place. I'm currently yon a 4 meg connection and I was cut to 1 meg a couple of days ago. I assumed that this was comming till next year but VM have decided otherwise. I am a new customer in the last few weeks and my experience with VM have been bad. They didn't install DTV when bb was being installed. My internet speed a at the start was capped at 2megs, a phone call sorted that out and now we have an outage a caps of 1meg. Really i'm looking forward till the day when they upgrade 4 meg to 10 meg if they ever do.

I have just finished downloading 5GB with NO STM, so the new policy is indeed in effect.
