Re: Can i have a second VM line?
All you need to do is call them up and they will supply you with an additional box. An engineer will probaby come round to install it, and I think it will cost you about £10 a month. Why say you might have to get sky up there otherwise? Sounds almost as if you're just saying it so we'll fall to your knees to tell you a way to keep VM up there ¬¬

Re: Can i have a second VM line?
Because ive heard in the past its impossible to have VM in other locations around the house, cant have 2 boxes or somthing. Just thought id ask here. Il give them a ring tommorow! Would they charge much for the wiring up to the loft? i dont think its so easy to do.

totally wrong there as my household has a total of 4 virginmedia points, a samsung box a v+ box, 1 20Megabit broardband modem and 1 10Megabit business modem, although the speeds are really slow on both of them but that besides the point

Re: Can i have a second VM line?
Righto im going to give them a bell tommorow (if its possible on sunday) and try and get somthing arranged. Also would i have to have the exact same channels as the box downstairs? or could i have a different package on the loft box?

Re: Can i have a second VM line?
AFAIK you have to have the same package, although channel level authorization is done on the smart cards, so perhaps it is possible to have different packages. Just phone them tomorrow and see

Re: Can i have a second VM line?
Called them yesterday, there installing the v+ HD box upstairs with a different tv package to the downstairs tv, £30 installation fee + £75 for the V+ box. Happy its sorted though.

Re: Can i have a second VM line?
technically you can have different packages on different boxes, as the package is sent to the smart card, not the account.
But you would be charged the same if you had the full package on both boxes as you would if you had say the M and sports on one and XL and sports on the other.

Re: Can i have a second VM line?
Having different packages on each of the boxes is pointless as you will always pay for the most expensive pack+£10.
