Some advice before i call VM

Hey, i'm simply looking for some advice before i call VM. My BB is cutting out every so often mainly when i download large files or stream music/videos, i was just wondering what could be the main cause of this? when i try diagnose and repair in vista it says that it cannot connect with the primary dns. i just ran the speed test at the top of this board and the results are as follows.

Sat, 08 Dec 2007 20:21:11 GMT

Test 1: 1024K took 26140 ms = 39.2 KB/sec, approx 323 Kbps, 0.32 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 16521 ms = 62 KB/sec, approx 511 Kbps, 0.5 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 34493 ms = 29.7 KB/sec, approx 245 Kbps, 0.24 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 63490 ms = 32.3 KB/sec, approx 266 Kbps, 0.26 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 336 Kbps, 0.33 Mbps

So.. Any ideas what i should ask/do?

do a tracert instead this should show where your problem is, just go to start type in search cmd then tracert "web site" see what you get then.

Have you checked the status page to see if there's a problem in your area?

Re: Some advice before i call VM

Wow, how did you get Vista to allow you to have the privileges to allow you to unlock privileges to access tracert and gain the privilege of getting a trace route to msn???

Joke

Re: Some advice before i call VM

please post what ubr you are connected to - as your speed indicates your ubr is probably over subscribed to me it looks like upto your ubr your speeds r fine once out onto the network tho you are being traffic shaped due to over subscription. i may be wrong but from my experience it does look like it.

Re: Some advice before i call VM

in the top bar click the connection button nest to speed test.

copy and past but xxxxx out the cust789 etc number it could still be down to over subscription just extreme slowness ie unable to connect past that hop * etc complete packet loss would mean unable to load any web page let alone dl anythin. also post a speed test from the above bar so we can see that
