50Mbit will be on docsis3, essentially a completely different network, it wont affect other tiers at all, infact it will relieve stress on the current docsis1 network.

Apart from STM my connection is, was and always will be rock steady.

No need for that language, we have minors on the forum.

I would like to upgrade, would be great to get 5.5mbps download speeds, don't know about anyone else but that would be great for me.

Why get it what can it get you?

Are you drunk mate? The speed is why people get it, for game hosting or downloading, much faster. Your right if you just want to read emails and surf the web it may not be the option for you, but if you use the speed to your advantage it pays for itself.
